Lion Square Shopping Center

Whitestone REIT hired STOA Architects to conceive and execute a dynamic design for the new exterior façade and overall image of an existing shopping center constructed in 1980. The center’s location on Bellaire Boulevard in the heart of Chinatown made it an important landmark, emphasizing the significance of the project.

During previous renovation endeavors, the center’s design integrated porch elements. To enhance the visual impact and create a unified focal point, the design team decided to add a tower element that would connect both porches. Additionally, STOA Architects modified the parapets and columns to craft smaller, yet striking areas of interest along the entire façade of the center. These adjustments aimed to improve the overall appearance and make the design more visually appealing and engaging to visitors.
