Baylor College of Medicine Biotech Academy at Rusk Addition

This is a renovation project for the Houston Independent School District Baylor College of Medicine Biotech Academy at Rusk. The scope of the renovation included the complete overhaul of the School Office Administration area, the renovation of public restrooms to meet ADA compliance standards, installation of new floor finishes in each classroom, replacement of ceilings with acoustical materials, and the replacement of windows and doors.

Spanning 21,000 square feet, it accommodates classrooms, computer labs, science labs, and a multi-purpose area measuring 3,000 square feet. To seamlessly integrate with the existing buildings, a covered canopy design was implemented, aligning with the school’s circulation patterns. Landscape walls were designed to match the aesthetics of the new addition, carefully selecting brick color and texture that complements the existing structure. Site improvements included parking spaces, play areas, and updates to the school’s infrastructure.
